Sat, 11/17/2012

November 18, 2012 - CNET Content Solutions has announced the release of DataSource 5.5 Release that went live on November 6, 2012. DataSource is the world’s leading source of independent product information, powering many of the world’s largest e-commerce sites, portals, manufacturers, retailers, and resellers.

With the 5.5 Release, DataSource introduced DataSource Cloud, a hosted global content distribution system that delivers rich product information directly to web product pages without the need for data handling or complex integration. DataSource elements can be customized and embedded with javascript code directly on a product page. With this new data delivery method, accurate and up-to-date product information is downloaded directly to the product page in real time, eliminating the need for complex data integration.

Along with this exciting new delivery feature, DataSource 5.5 also includes the addition of high-resolution images. Historically, the maximum resolution supported has been 640 x 480. Now, images of higher resolutions, including 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1200 x 900 and 2400 x1800, have been added. High resolution images are available to all qualifying DataSource customers through DataSource Cloud.

With the DataSource 5.5 Release, ECCN and HTS Classifications have been added. An Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) identifies the level of export control for articles, technology and software. The Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) is the primary resource for determining tariff classifications for goods imported into the United States. ECCN and HTS Classifications will be provided to our customers in Alternative Categorization tables.

These new features were available as of November 6. The DataSource 5.5 release represents CNET Content Solutions’ dedication to constant improvement and advancement of our products to meet the needs of IT and CE manufacturers, resellers, and retailers worldwide.
