CNET Channel Announces Green Data Support for Customers

Sun, 09/07/2008

We wanted to share some exciting news with you related to CNET Channel's support of Environmental Compliance product information. CNET Channel recently partnered with EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool), a private organization that has a highly recognized certification program for technology manufacturers focusing on desktops, notebooks and monitors. The mandatory purchase of EPEAT-only products is adopted by many organizations, including the U.S. Federal Government, the Government of Canada and the state of California.

EPEAT is now a stand-alone service available and free to all CNET Channel customers and non-customers. The service makes EPEAT certification information "retailer friendly" so you can easily identify certified products and display the appropriate EPEAT logo on product pages to help shoppers find products that are "green" and make educated environmental purchase decisions. In conjunction with the EPEAT partnership, DataSource has been modified to now have the Environmental Compliance attributes (EPEAT, Energy Star and Blue Angel) as unique Searchable Attributes. This will enable you to create more powerful search functionality for these "green" products in your catalog.

We created a marketing resource page for your to promote Environmental Compliance product information in your catalog - you will find logos, recommended text and banners to help shoppers find green products.

Please let me know if you have any questions and if you're interested in learning more about how you can integrate our Environment Compliance product information in your catalog.
